When every minute counts, distinguishing between stroke and traumatic brain injury can be a critical challenge for prehospital providers. This course explores the key differences and similarities in stroke and trauma presentations, emphasizing the importance of thorough patient histories, effective screening tools, and understanding how mechanisms of injury and comorbidities can influence assessment findings.
Participants will learn strategies for rapid recognition and timely interventions, including the role of advanced imaging such as CT scans in guiding patient care. Through evidence-based practices and real-world application, this session highlights the overlapping care pathways for stroke and trauma patients, helping providers make informed decisions that support improved patient outcomes.
